By publishing a Modern Slavery Statement Bayer sets a clear signal against modern slavery, forced or compulsory labor and human trafficking.

As a founding member of the UN Global Compact and in line with our commitment to respect the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights, we stand for respecting human rights in everything we do. We have no tolerance for violations of human rights, modern slavery nor human trafficking. We are committed to respecting and fostering human rights within our own business activities and in business relations along our value chains.
 

To set a sign against modern slavery, forced or compulsory labor and human trafficking we summarize and publish our efforts and yearly progress to combat violations of human rights in a Modern Slavery Statement. It encompasses the human right of not to be subjected to slavery, servitude, or forced labor and serves to fulfill our legal reporting requirements.

We have summarized our yearly progress in a statement adhering to the legal requirements of

the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act (PDF, 892 KB),
the United Kingdom Modern Slavery Act (PDF, 998 KB)    
the Australia Modern Slavery Act (PDF, 1 MB).

We are continuously working to improve our human rights due diligence efforts. Our most important activities in 2021 were:

• A company-wide human rights risk assessment
• Introduction of Bayer’s Human Rights Strategy framework
• Launch of an e-Learning on human rights
